Our Services
Our service provides individualised support packages to enable young people to develop independent living skills ensuring the young person is ready to make their transition to adulthood. An action plan and a weekly structure is provided to the young person and a weekly report is also sent to all working professionals to evidence the progress of the young person is making within their placement.
Our staff team are skilled and have experience in safeguarding, caring for and creating positive outcomes for young people who are accommodated with us. We are dedicated to work with young people from the most severe backgrounds and help them create their own best possible outcomes in achieving their dreams.
Our specific support includes:
Intensive Support
- 24 hours onsite and on call management support (8.00am-23.00pm, with Sleep In 10.00pm-07.00am).
- Available daily (where required) morning support for motivation to ensure service users are attending education, training or employments.
- 5 to 40 hours of Independent advisor support or additional support.
- Constructed and organised weekly structure for complex needs.
- Daily and weekly support with budgeting
- Support with weekly food shop or food preparation.
- Daily support with paying bills (Gas & Electricity).
- Support with cooking and menu choices or preparation of meals.
- Emotional and well-being support.
- Support with promoting personal hygiene, health and wellbeing.
- Weekly budget session given on their benefit day - food, travel costs etc.
- Housing and Benefit advice to prepare for full independence.
- Fully Furnished accommodation.
- Education/training top up’s will be available subject to being in education/training
- Support/encouragement with health appointments (Service user needs to be independent in this area).
- Support/encouragement with family commitments/arrangements.
- Support in attending other appointment i.e. YOT, Probation, Legal.
- Weekly 1:1 work with Support Team to address areas of need.
- Emergency call out service to support i.e. PACE, hospital, crisis.
- 24/7 on call support for service users and Support Team.
- Therapeutic support with varying therapeutic interventions as needed.
Floating support/outreach support provided
PSB offers a floating/outreach support service. The service is purely based on contact at the young person’s place of residence or tenancy and is aimed at providing immediate contact with the young person. The floating support can be commissioned as little as 5 hours per week, to helps support young people in a transition into a new tenancy, support in accessing education training or employment, support with budgeting and independence skills, to support a period of pregnancy or a period of bereavement etc. The aim of this phase is to offer immediate support to the young person whilst not re-building a dependency for this support.
Other floating/outreach support include
- Designated Independent Advisor or Support Worker that can be used throughout the week i.e. over an agreed rota to cover core periods of support (Minimum 5 hours Support).
- Independence Programme undertaken weekly.
- Welfare checks can be undertaken on days in which the Support Team are not supporting the young person - only if there is a raised concern or issue.
- Weekly budget session given on their benefit, food, travel costs
- Education/training top ups will be available subject to being in education
- Emotional and wellbeing support
- Weekly 1:1 work with support to address areas of need

- 24/7 on call support for service users and Support Team, available daily (where required) morning support for motivation to ensure Service users are attending education, training or employment.
All young people are appointed a key worker who can provide a varying range of support dependent on the level of need and package commissioned.
Support packages offered by PSB are always made with the primary agreement of the young person upon their signing of the PSB services agreement. Voice and choice for young people are paramount principles within PSB placements, and all young people continue to have a choice and say about their support from the day the PSB agreement is signed.
